The organizers of the Australian Open announced that Agnieszka Radwańska will perform in the tournament of legends in tandem with Slovakian Daniela Hantuchova. The Polish-Slovak duo will face Cara Black from Zimbabwe and Rennae Stubbs from Australia. The match with the former vice-leader of the WTA ranking is to take place on Tuesday, January 24 at 1:00 am Polish time. It is worth noting that Radwańska previously participated in the tournament of legends at Wimbledon with Serbian Jelena Janković, but ended the struggle at the group stage.

Agnieszka Radwańska’s best result in the history of performances at the Australian Open was the semi-finals in 2014 and 2016, where she lost to Slovak Dominika Cibulkova and American Seren Williams, respectively. In the case of doubles competition, the best was the semi-final in 2010, where together with Russian Marija Kirilenko she was eliminated after three sets with Cara Black and American Liezel Huber. During her career, Radwańska won a total of 20 WTA singles tournaments and two doubles tournaments.

The Australian Open men’s and women’s doubles tournament of legends will run from January 22 to 26 at Melbourne Park. In addition to Agnieszka Radwańska, the tournament will be attended by, among others brothers Bob and Mike Bryan (six-time winners of the Australian Open in doubles), Australian Mark Phillippoussis, Croatian Iva Majoli, Austrian Barbara Schett-Eagle and Radek Stepanek from the Czech Republic.
