Olympic champion in speed skating and State Duma deputy Svetlana Zhurova criticized Russian football players Fedor Smolov and Pavel Mamaev, who announced the opening of their own academy in the UAE. Her words are quoted by Moscow Speaks.
Zhurova accused the players of avoiding mobilization and denounced the idea of setting up a school abroad. “If they do it for their own money, then it’s more correct to do it all the same in Russia. Who raised them when they were children? It’s better to spend on our children,” she added.
