According to the British newspaper The Guardian, Wolves paid around 3.3 million pounds (R$ 21.3 million at current prices) for the English defender. Dawson only had a contract with the Hammers until June and could leave free of charge at the end of the season.
This was Wolverhampton’s fourth signing this transfer window. Earlier, coach Julien Lopetegui’s team had already agreed on the arrival of defensive midfielder Lemina, midfielder Sarabia and Brazilian striker Matheus Cunha.
Dawson had been at West Ham since 2020. Before, the defender had already defended other clubs in the English first division, such as West Brom and Watford. In the current season, the Englishman played in 13 matches and scored one goal.
