With the triumph in Mexico City, Verstappen reached 312.5 points and moved away from Hamilton who is second with 293.5 points. Bottas did not add and stayed with 185 points and Pérez reduced his distance with respect to the Finn by reaching 165 and staying in fourth place.

Bottas went to eighteenth and last because almost simultaneously the Japanese Yuki Tsunoda (AlphaTauri) and the German Mick Schumacher (Haas) were left out after an impact between them in the first meters of the first lap.
