Nenê gets emotional after Vasco’s loss to Botafogo: “We have to be ashamed”

O Basque felt the blow. The reality of having to play the B series by 2022 it is increasingly irreversible. The defeat for the Botafogo by 4 a 0, this Sunday, in São Januário, complicated the situation for good. Nene is the portrait of the team’s moment. The midfielder cried in the interview and made a promise.

“We have to be ashamed of ourselves. I’m like this because it’s the second time I’ve come to help and I feel like I’ve failed, but God knows all things. I will not bow my head. I know I gave it my all and I’ll keep giving until the last game, until the last second. I’ll stay until Vasco goes up, just like the first time I came”, declared Nenê, through tears.

Gigante da Colina even started the derby well against Botafogo, but the instability and known errors weighed heavily. Early on, after almost scoring in two moves, Vasco took a counterattack after a corner in favor and saw the rival swing the net. It had already happened in the defeat to the Guarani.

From then on, Vasco felt the blow – and Botafogo expanded. To make matters worse, Léo Matos was sent off in the first half, which ended 3-0 for his rival. The fans from Vasco protested in São Januário, shouting “the shameless team”.

Now, Vasco needs a miracle to get up. Gigante da Colina is currently eight points behind the G4. However, the difference can jump to ten if the CRB win the black Bridge, this Sunday, in Campinas. Only four rounds to go.

Vasco returns to the field on Wednesday, when he receives the Victory, in São Januário, at 9:30 pm (from Brasília). The match is valid for the 35th round of Series B.
