The Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal was eliminated this Wednesday from the Australian Open, the first grand slams of the season and in which he was defending the title, after losing in three sets (6-4, 6-4, 7-5) against the American mackenzie mcdonald and after playing injured from the end of the second.

The Spaniard, first favorite at Melbourne Park, had to seek medical attention in the final stretch of the second set, when he had already lost the first and was down 5-3. He was first treated on the track for a problem at the level of his left hip and then even left it to return and try to overcome a duel.

“I can’t complain about my life at all. But only in terms of sport and injuries and difficult moments, it’s something else. I can’t say that I’m not mentally destroyed at the moment, because I would be lying,” he acknowledged at a press conference.

“Sometimes it’s frustrating. Sometimes it’s hard to accept. Sometimes you feel very tired because of all this with injuries. Don’t think that I want to take a step back, it’s not the case, but my current feelings are bad,” explained the Balearic.
