The captain of Real Madrid, Karim Benzema, assured this Saturday that he would be in top form before the final of the Spanish Super Cup against Barcelona, assuring that he had left behind the controversies with the French team.

“It’s clear that I’m back,” said Benzema at the press conference prior to the final, after having a great game in the semifinal against Valencia.
The French striker believes that coach Carlo Ancelotti is right about the version of his moment of form.
“I have recovered sensations again because I had an injury. I have done a good job to return to my level and touch the ball, mark and assist. Play my game in short. I’m back and I’m happy and hopefully I can help my teammates. After last season, which was very important, he needed time to come back. I’m on the right track, in good shape. I feel very good”.
He avoided talking about what happened in the World Cup. “It’s over and that’s it. The important thing is tomorrow’s game. It is in my head and in my body. The rest is past, complicated yes. I’m not going to talk about France anymore. The issue at hand is the final. I can not talk any more. I am only going to answer for the final and not for the World Cup”.
“The most important thing is tomorrow. I’m ready and well in my head, so I’m focused on my match tomorrow. The rest is past, complicated, but that’s it. I am focused on my game tomorrow”, said Benzema.
Faced with repeated questions on this subject, Benzema was blunt: “That’s not tomorrow’s topic (this Sunday), the topic is the final, I’m sorry, I can’t tell you more about France, about the World Cup.”
“If you ask me about tomorrow’s game I can answer you, but the rest, I don’t think I’m going to answer,” he said.
Benzema also did not want to advance on a possible renewal with the merengue team. (D)
