Team Canada set a record for victories at the Youth World Cup. They have 20 tournament victories to their credit. The national teams of the USSR, CIS and Russia have 13 titles, which is the second indicator.

The Russian national team was suspended from participation in the youth world championship due to the sanctions of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). All domestic teams were deprived of the right to compete under the auspices of the organization. Also, Russia was deprived of the right to host the 2023 World Cup and the youth championship, which was supposed to be held in Novosibirsk and Omsk.
