Robinho wants to return to football, despite the sentence against him that he has in Italy

Despite the legal problems that resulted from a sentence against him made in Italy, the Brazilian Robinho has not stopped training and maintains the desire to return to play in official tournaments.

Until now, the player trains in Sao Paulo to be ready in case a team comes out, which he is already managing.

According to Diario As, Robinho has spoken with the Portuguese Santista team that plays in Serie A-2 of the São Paulo championship.

The information comes from Brazil’s Diario UOL, which highlighted that, despite close talks, they have not yet agreed.

Robinho faces a sentence in Italy, to nine years in prison, handed down by the Supreme Court of that country, for sexual violence in a group against a woman during the year 2013, when he played with AC Milan.

This sentence is the main reason that prevents Robinho from accepting one of the two offers he has, because he is concerned about his family and children due to possible persecution by the press.

Robinho played his last game as a professional on July 19, 2020, for Istanbul Basaksehir, from Turkey.

Since then, the attacker has continued training on a court in Guarujá along with other Santos footballers, such as defender Domingos and striker Renatinho.

“We talked about the possibility of signing him. He has this problem and we had a cursory conversation. It was not an official proposal and he did not give us an answer, but we considered it”, responded Emerson Coelho, vice president of Portuguesa Santista.

“Is a great player. I hope he resolves his life in the legal part. To Portuguese Santista, having Robinho would be great, but we only had one conversation”, added the leader.
