Karim Gazzetta, 27, has died. Zrinjski Mostar player commits suicide
Karim Gazzetta began his football career in the Swiss Servette FC, but he played most matches in the colors of FC Winterthur. The player was called up to the youth national teams of Switzerland, but never made it to the first team. His last club in his homeland was Neuchatel Xamax, from which he moved to Zrinjski Mostar in the summer of 2022. He played only one match for the club from Bosnia and Herzegovina, but suffered an injury that kept him out until the end of the year.
In the past, Gazzetta was considered a great talent in Swiss football. For the 27-year-old, Zrinjski was the first foreign club, and he came to Bosnia as a big reinforcement. The coach of the team, Sergej Jakirović, emphasized that he is a very talented player, but his career is interrupted by injuries.
Information about the death of the footballer confirmed by the Ministry of the Interior of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Apart from the spokesman’s comment, the club from Mostar did not officially inform about Monday’s tragedy.
