is one of the bravest Polish directors. In his films, he raises important but controversial topics, refutes and is not afraid to take up embarrassing issues. The artist has several high-profile productions, such as “Bejbi Blues” or “Satan ordered to dance”, for which she received many prestigious awards. Soon her latest production “Salt Lake” will debut on cinema screens.
“Salt Lake” overthrows another taboo. The theme of passion after sixty
After the success of earlier productions, Katarzyna Rosłaniec disappeared from the media for a while, but she did not abandon the film world. Soon the director will return to the cinema screens with the film “Salt Lake”, this time to talk about the erotic life after sixty. Why did she decide on heroes at such an age? “They have more to lose, but less time to gain for themselves. But it’s amazing how the perception of age changes. On the one hand, older people have finally ceased to be invisible. And on the other hand, we stop lying to ourselves that there is no age. You can’t fool with plastic that you are 35, which does not mean that your age is an obstacle to beauty – Rosłaniec.
The main character of “Salt Lake” is 64-year-old Helena (Katarzyna Butowtt), who discovers that her husband (Krzysztof Stelmaszyk), and at the same time her only lover, is constantly cheating on her. She decides to risk everything and break free from his domination to try what she could not dare before.
Beauty and passion have no age. Katarzyna Rosłaniec talks about nudity
The message from the latest production of Rosłaniec says that “passion has no age”. The artist overthrows another taboo, proving that retirees also have the right to pleasure, and age is just a number. —We show naked bodies to hide the soul, by which we misunderstand freedom, and to prove our attractiveness, we gather lovers. It is unacceptable to have one sexual partner in your life. And even though we are increasingly lonely in this cobwebbed crowd of dependence and belonging, marital fidelity is a “whim” of the Catholic Church for us. And what if this “socially sick” faithfulness has nothing to do with religion, culture, nothing? Is it just from ourselves? the director asks.
The movie “Salt Lake” will debut in cinemas on March 17, 2023.
