“I know that there are big salaries in football and hockey, but I don’t look into anyone’s wallet and I don’t dare to say anything about this,” Khorkina said. She added that she considers it vile when people from the outside begin to count pennies and discuss cars donated to athletes.

In November, Russian figure skater Anastasia Skoptsova spoke about the difference in wages with the players. “I’m sorry that I, not the greatest skater, but a good average level, was in the top 30 of the world, I could never get as much as our football players or hockey players get,” she shared.

Earlier, the world champion and Olympic medalist in biathlon Maxim Tsvetkov talked about the salaries of football players. “If you take a biathlete from another country, then he will also earn less than a football player from this country.
