“This is a story that absolutely prevailed.” Michniewicz leaves because of a conflict in the frame?

Since Thursday, the Polish national team officially has no coach. Although, in theory, Czesław Michniewicz remains him until the end of the year, we already know for sure that PZPN will not extend the contract with him. On Thursday, the union issued a statement in which it officially announced the separation from the coach.

Within a dozen or so days after the world championships, Michniewicz had a series of meetings with Cezary Kulesza and his closest associates. The coach summed up the time spent with the team and presented a plan for its further management. There was, however, a clash at one of these meetings.

“I had no support”, “there was even no proper organization”, “there was a success, but a communication error was made” – these words were supposed to come from Michniewicz’s lips. All the allegations concerned the team manager and spokesman of PZPN, Jakub Kwiatkowski.

Kulesza was even supposed to contact Kwiatkowski and ask him to clarify the matter. Within a few dozen minutes, the person concerned appeared at the union’s headquarters, where he refuted the accusations without the presence of Michniewicz, who had left for Gdynia.

“At half past three in the morning in Qatar after the Argentina – Poland match, Michniewicz called the team leaders. I had the impression that Robert Lewandowski was embarrassed by this situation. It was at this point that Michniewicz’s assistant – Kamil Potrykus – was obliged to collect account numbers players, so that the transfer of the bonus takes place as soon as possible, “said Kwiatkowski.

The conflict with Kwiatkowski decided the fate of Michniewicz?

On Thursday, Kwiatkowski, who was the only one to talk to the media, assured that Michniewicz had left the Polish national team on good terms. – The atmosphere of the meeting was good. No one had any comments or complaints. We part in harmony – he said in an interview with RMF FM.

However, there are many indications that the conflict between Michniewicz and Kwiatkowski took place. Tomasz Włodarczyk from the Matchyki.pl portal even added that the misunderstandings between the two decided to change the position of the coach of the Polish national team.

– For me, this is a story that absolutely prevailed. The players opted for the team manager of the Polish national team. (…) One of the players told Henryk Kula through his brother that he did not intend to continue playing in the national team if the selector did not change – said Włodarczyk.

For now, it is not known who will be the new head coach of the Polish national team. His debut will take place on March 24 in Prague, when we play the Czech Republic in the first match of the Euro 2024 qualifiers. Three days later we will host Albania.
