Spain head coach Luis Enrique regretted not being able to help the players at the World Cup
Former head coach of the Spanish national football team Luis Enrique turned to the players after leaving the team. The expert spoke in Twitter.
“Thanks to the players who behaved exemplary and were true to our idea. It is a pity that I could not help you better, ”Enrique said. He thanked the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), the coaching staff of the national team and the fans, and also wished the new team coach Luis de la Fuente to achieve everything he had in mind.

On December 8, RFEF reported that Enrique had left the post of head coach of the Spanish national team after the departure of the players from the World Cup. Together with him, his entire coaching staff left the team.
On December 6, in the 1/8 final match, the Spaniards lost to the Moroccans and completed their performances in Qatar. The main and additional time of the meeting ended in a goalless draw. The Moroccan national team turned out to be stronger in the penalty shootout – 3:0.
Enrique led the Spanish national team in 2018 after losing to the Russian team in the 1/8 finals of the World Cup. Under his leadership, the Spaniards reached the semi-finals of the European Championship 2020, where they lost to the Italian team in a penalty shootout.
