A hit of the Ekstraklasa at the National Stadium? Widzew Łódź pushes the idea

Although it is not yet known when PGE Narodowy will be put back into use, some are making plans related to the organization of further events at the facility. It is about the Ekstraklasa match between Legia Warszawa and Widzew Łódź, which is scheduled for the last weekend of February.

Widzew Łódź dreams of 60,000 for the match against Legia. “We have taken action”

According to the portal, the authorities of Widzew Łódź want to organize a rematch with Legia Warszawa at PGE Narodowy. Reason? Huge interest in the August match of both teams in Łódź. – We estimated them at 60,000 volunteers. That is why the idea was born to organize the meeting in a much larger facility. The deciding vote belongs to Legia, of course, because it is the host of the rematch. However, it would be a great event and prestige for the Ekstraklasa – said Marcin Tarociński, spokesman for Widzew, quoted by the portal.

The president of the club, Mateusz Dróżdż, also referred to the case. “We have attempted to do so, but due to a number of factors, it may be difficult,” he tweeted.

Interestingly, Widzew also has an idea how to allocate tickets for such a meeting. Assuming that 60,000 people can sit at PGE Narodowy, 20,000 tickets would go to fans from Łódź, and the rest to Legia supporters.

Although the Legia authorities have not yet officially responded to the proposal, the fans of the capital club are not satisfied. “But Łazienkowska 3 is our home match Widzew Legia we played in your house so Legia Widzew will be in ours :)” wrote one of the fans.

Widzew’s plans may be thwarted not only by Legia, but also by … repair of the roof at the National Stadium. It is not yet known when the facility will reopen.
