On Thursday, October 13, culturologist Aleksey Guzanov will hold a meeting “Bright Christmas Day” in the art space mArs (Marsovo Pole, 3). The event will be held as part of the “Kvartirnik” project. The start is at 19:00.
The event will focus on how the Russian Empire celebrated Christmas and New Year in wartime.
“Our long-suffering Motherland had to endure a lot of hard trials and human sorrows during the barbarian attack of the French in 1812. I will also tell you what happened during Christmas in the background of the Russian-Turkish war of 1877-1878 or during the First World War in 1914. Today it is our duty to remember our history and sacredly honor our traditions,” Guzanov said.
