Not only will the 2022 Copa Sudamericana title be played this Saturday in the Argentine city of Córdoba, but also an important cash prize will be played by the Independiente del Valle and Sao Paulo teams, in the final of a competition that began in March.
Both Ecuadorians and Brazilians will receive a prize that is added to what was obtained in the previous phases, so winning the Cup not only guarantees writing your name in the history of the tournament.
The Copa Sudamericana delivered this year almost 60 million dollars to all the teams that participated from phase 1, also adding to those that came from the Copa Libertadores for having been third in their groups.
How much will the 2022 Copa Sudamericana champion earn?
After passing different instances, the team that wins will obtain the amount of 5 million dollars net, not counting what was previously earned, while the runner-up will achieve 2 million more than what was earned in the previous phases.
Both Independiente del Valle and Sao Paulo will win different amounts, added by the performance of each one, in case of winning the South American Cup.
In the case of Sao Paulo, it will be able to round off an accumulated purse of 7,800,000 dollars, since from the group stage to the final it guaranteed 2,800,000 dollars in prize money. Those added to the 5 million makes the 7.8 million guaranteed.
Independiente del Valle goes for more to achieve a round year economically, since it came directly from the 2022 Copa Libertadores, in which it obtained 3 million dollars for playing in the group phase.
The striped managed to pass the eighth, quarter and semifinal of the 2022 South American Cup in which they added 2 million dollars, which, added to the 3 million won in the Libertadores, reaches 5 million.
If Independiente del Valle wins the 2022 South American Cup, they will win a $10 million purse for their participation in the two main Conmebol tournaments.
