The Russian team took first place overall at the IOAI 2026 International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence, winning seven gold medals and one bronze.
The eight high school students beat competitors from 100 countries to claim seven of the eight gold medals awarded at the tournament. The victory marks the third consecutive year that the Russian squad has finished as the absolute champion of the global artificial intelligence competition.

The eight team members are Mikhail Vershinin, Artyom Gorokhov, Yelisey Kirpichenko, Aleksey Kolegov, Kirill Labzin, Aleksandr Povarov, Nikita Pudovkin, and Semyon Rodionov.
SberUniversity hosted the selection process for the national squad. Preparation for the event was conducted by experts from the AI Alliance alongside teachers from Central University.
