Prices in Russia fell by 0.02 percent from July 28 to August 3, while annual inflation reached 6.11 percent, according to a review of the current price situation published on the website of the Ministry of Economic Development.

Food price dynamics slowed to 0.05 percent during the period, helped by a 0.75 percent price drop in fruit and vegetable products. The ministry noted that price growth for remaining food items slowed to 0.13 percent, while non-food prices declined by 0.18 percent.

Central Bank inflation forecasts

The Bank of Russia previously raised its full-year inflation forecast range to between 6 and 7 percent, up from its April forecast of 4.5 to 5.5 percent. Inflation reached 6 percent by the end of the second quarter of 2026.

Inflation accelerated in June and July, driven mainly by rising prices for petroleum products.
