Peru's official exchange rate closed Tuesday, August 4, at 3.3910 soles per dollar, matching its opening level for the day, according to the Banco Central de Reserva del Peru (BCRP).

The interbank exchange rate, also tracked by the BCRP, closed the same day with an average value of 3.3897 soles. It reached a high of 3.3930 and a low of 3.3870 during the session.

Where to check the rate

The official closing rate for the day is published on the website of the Superintendencia de Banca, Seguros y AFP (SBS), Peru's banking and insurance regulator.

What is the dolar Ocona

Separately, the report noted that the so-called dolar Ocona refers to the informal, or street, exchange rate used in Peru's parallel currency market, centered on Ocona street. This rate reflects prices at informal money changers rather than the official market, according to BBVA.
