Detained in Quito three people part of a criminal organization dedicated to the theft of cars and auto parts

Two Ecuadorians and a Venezuelan citizen were arrested in a building in Carcelén Bajo, north of Quito, where you were hiding two stolen cars.

The crime was committed last Thursday in the Pusuquí sector, at the northern end of the capital. Last Friday, after uninterrupted monitoring, a home was searched in flagrante delicto in the sector of Carcelén Bajo, north of Quito, where the van stolen the day before was located in a garage. A thorough inspection of the property found a red car that had also been reported stolen.

Inside the building were the Ecuadorians Mateo A. and Yomber C., who maintains a criminal record for trafficking illicit substance abuse, and the Venezuelan citizen Yalecxys B. In the possession of the three detainees, a knife, a firearm with their respective ammunition and a separate other type of high-caliber ammunition that are used for long-range weapons was found.

According to Colonel Villarroel, these groups dedicated to car theft, after removing them, alter their alphanumeric series, alter the license plate of vehicles that may have similar characteristics in the license plates or at the same time they falsify the public documents, that is, the license plates, the purchase and sale data.

“With all these criminal tricks they proceed to mobilize these vehicles, in order for them to be sold in other cities fraudulently, are used to carry out actions criminal offenses of another nature such as robbery of people or homes, but not in the locality where they are stolen, since the Police begin to track these vehicles. That is why these vehicles are taken to other cities, but we do not rule out that these vehicles are taken to other countries by land borders, by gauges ”, explained Villarroel.
