The New Yorker of Ecuadorian parents will come to the country along with his team with whom he has previously prepared in Los Angeles: Julian Chua and Chris Wong.

The American of Ecuadorian blood Arnold González will face on Saturday, November 20 in Manta, in a lawsuit for the South American title of 147 pounds (welterweight) of the Universal Boxing Organization (UBO), the Colombian José Luis Prieto.

The announcement was made by the national promoter Capital Box through a repost on his Instagram account on Saturday.

Capital Box a day before the announcement had confirmed that the New York boxer “is back in Ecuador” in search of “absolute glory and the first places in the ranking world”.

González, 26, has a professional record of seven wins and zero losses, of which four he has obtained on Ecuadorian soil. The last was signed by way of knockout against Mexican Flavio Ramos at welterweight also in Manta, in a match valid for the sum of points in the ranking by BoxRec.

González’s current contender is a Colombian boxer ten years older, who in October 2019 faced the Ecuadorian Alexander Espinoza for the 140-pound Fedebol title dispute World Boxing Association (WBA) version.

Prieto has a record of 38 fights made, 28 wins (including 18 via knockout) and 10 knockdowns.

In the coastal city of Manabi, the South American title of 147 pounds of the Universal Boxing Organization will be in dispute, a structure that recognizes the rankings World BoxRec. With title fights in more than twenty-five countries, as stated on its official website, the UBO considers that it has become a global sanctioning body.

González, of Ecuadorian parents, will come to the country along with his training team with whom he previously prepares at Brickhouse Boxing Club in Los Angeles: Julian Chua and Chris Wong. (D)
