Prices for gaming video cards in Russia have increased several times, writes 3dnews. In particular, the flagship GeForce RTX 3090 in some stores cost about 500 thousand rubles, more affordable models have also ceased to be “budget”.
As noted, in the video card market, prices around the world are much higher than recommended, but recently they have begun to decline. Thus, in the European market, the markup for NVIDIA and AMD video cards averages +35% and +41% relative to the recommended price.
However, in Russia, the markup on many video cards significantly exceeds the recommended one, both due to the growth of the dollar, and due to market instability and lack of confidence in stable electronics supplies due to sanctions and logistics problems.
In particular, the GeForce RTX 3050 model is sold in stores at a price of 80 thousand rubles, although the recommended price of the GeForce RTX 3050 in Russia at the time of release at the end of January was 24,900 rubles. Then its price from sellers started from 27 thousand rubles.
Prices for flagship graphics cards are even higher. For example, the Radeon RX 6900 XT model in Russian retail is offered at an average of 300 thousand rubles, the GeForce RTX 3090 is more expensive than 450 and even 500 thousand rubles.
The publication notes that the most profitable offers can be found on Avito and Aliexpress, but even there prices are far from “budget”.
Recall, on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin made an emergency appeal to the Russians and announced a special military operation in the Donbass. In his speech, he stated that “circumstances require decisive action from Russia” and stressed that “Russia will not allow Ukraine to have nuclear weapons.” In response to Russia’s actions, Western countries (USA, Canada, EU, UK, Japan) announced new, tougher sanctions against the Russian Federation, including financial and economic ones.
