Jeampierre Escala arrived at the Guayaquil hospital, in the suburb of the city, around midnight this Thursday, after being shot a few meters from that health home when he was walking to a pharmacy in the sector.
The man was intercepted by individuals who arrived on a motorcycle and shot him in a doorway on 31st and Oriente.
Escala was shot twice: one in the head and one in the right leg. Due to the seriousness of his injuries he died shortly after.
Police arrived in the sector and raised the signs to find the criminals. They also reported that the victim had no criminal record.

Hours before this crime, in Posorja, a parish in Guayaquil, another murder took place.
Leyton Mero Ruiz was shot while walking down the main street of this port. According to witnesses, the perpetrators arrived at the sector on foot, killed Mero and fled.
The victim was shot in the back and another in the left side. Police went to the sector and raised six ballistic signs. So far in 2022, 248 violent deaths have been recorded in Zone 8. Last year, in the same period, there were 92 cases. (I)
