Rammstein with a new album in the spring. There is also a spectacular music video. Will it cause another scandal?

On Thursday, February 24, at 3 a.m. Polish time, Russian troops attacked Ukraine. The soldiers struck both from the ground and from the air. The Ukrainian army is resisting tough, but the situation is changing minute by minute.

On April 29, 2022 – exactly three years after the premiere of the previous, untitled album of the German group Rammstestein – the eighth album titled “Zeit”. The first single from this release that the listeners can hear is a lyrical and epic ballad with the same title as the album. The lyrics of the song deal with the subject of human mortality and fleeting moments of happiness.

Rammstein and his new music video about the passing of life

“Time, please, don’t even twitch” – sings the singer and songwriter Till Lindemann in a song that was written during the coronavirus epidemic, and it is delivered to listeners 14 days after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine. The song is accompanied by a music video made with the panache of a German band. It was directed by an actor and musician, Robert Gwisdek, who worked with a famous group for the first time.

In fact, the clip resembles a symbolic film etude that deals with the subject of the inevitability of human death and the passing of time. The idea is to show the course of human life from the end. So at the very beginning we have a death scene and shots where the band members sink to the bottom of the sea after they fall out of the boat during a storm.

In the next sequence, musicians in costumes that can be dated to the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century run around the forest with rifles and shoot each other. Then, in their place, we see young boys playing soldiers with sticks in the forest, there is also a symbolic depiction of a mass childbirth in an hourglass with falling sand. From time to time, the personification of time appears, observing subsequent events – a hooded figure with a ball of light instead of a face.

The music video lasts about six minutes and we warn you that it includes close-ups of the baby’s head as it slides out of the birth canal:

The band Rammstein, consisting of Till Lindemann (vocals), Paul Landers (guitar), Richard Z. Kruspe (guitar), Flake (keyboards), Oliver Riedel (bass) and Christoph Schneider, have been working on 11 songs for the past two years. the album “Zeit” (meaning “time”). Berlin producer Olsen Involtini accompanied them during the session. The recordings took place at La Fabrique Studios in St. Rémy de Provence in France.

The album cover was created by popular rock musician and respected photographer Bryan Adams. The photo session took place on the steps of the Trudelturm building, in Berlin’s aerodynamic park.

As part of the promotion of “Zeit”, Rammstein will go on a tour that will also include Poland. On July 16, 2022, the German band will play at PGE Narodowy. The band’s discography so far is closed by “Untitled album” from 2019, which hit the top of 14 sales lists around the world – also in Poland. The album was released after Rammstein’s longest, ten-year break in publishing. In a career spanning nearly 30 years, the Rammstein group has sold over 20 million albums and traveled the world with groundbreaking, spectacular performances –
