The countries that have adopted sanctions against Belarus and Russia will then “come themselves, apologize and ask for cooperation.” This is the opinion of the Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko, his speech is published by the press service of the Pool of the First Telegram channel.

“Well, you see these insane sanctions in Europe against Russia, and we are there for the company. So that Russia does not circumvent sanctions through Belarus. Well, what can I say? The cats are resting,” Lukashenka said. “Let’s endure. We will endure for a year, and then you will see – they will come to us, they will apologize and ask us to cooperate with them, ”added the President of Belarus.

He also stressed that “many Belarusian projects are being implemented in Russia, and all of them are supported by the Russian side.”

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin made an emergency appeal to the Russians and announced a special military operation in the Donbass. In his speech, he stated that “circumstances require decisive action from Russia” and stressed that “Russia will not allow Ukraine to have nuclear weapons.” In response to Russia’s actions, Western countries (USA, Canada, European Union, Great Britain, Japan) announced new, tougher sanctions against the Russian Federation, including financial and economic ones. Restrictions were also introduced against Belarus – as Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky said, the military allegedly came from Belarusian territory to Ukraine. Lukashenka himself has repeatedly rejected reports that Belarus is somehow taking part in the special operation of the Russian Federation.
