Russian tennis players Daniil Medvedev and Karen Khachanov were forced to remove the tricolor from their Instagram profile descriptions. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
It is noted that the tricolor from the accounts of athletes disappeared due to pressure from the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP). Medvedev and Khachanov were threatened with deprivation of the right to participate in tournaments under the auspices of the organization.
On March 1, it became known that the ATP would allow the Russians to compete in a neutral status. Similar sanctions also affected representatives of Belarus. The International Tennis Federation (ITF) took a tougher stance, depriving the Russians of the right to participate in competitions under their auspices.
Russian athletes have faced sanctions from various organizations. In particular, Russian football clubs and national teams remained outside international sports.
