A man died in a traffic accident on Jaime Hurtado road, in the south of the city of Esmeraldas, fleeing from a police chase.

The alert of the fact was recorded at around 02:00 this Friday, March 4. According to the police report, two armed people on a motorcycle were chased by a patrol car. During the chase, the occupants of the vehicle would have fired shots at the uniformed men to evade them.

One of the occupants got off the moving motorcycle, fell and was left unconscious on the road. The other person aboard the vehicle fled. Although the police units and lifeguards treated the victim, she died on the road. The case is under investigation and the location of the other occupant is being sought.

In the La Propicia neighborhood, in the south of Esmeraldas, a 36-year-old man suffered an attempted murder. The incident occurred on the night of Thursday, March 3. According to the complainant, while he was walking through said sector he was intercepted by four subjects on two motorcycles and they shot him. As evidence, seven pods and two firearm bullets were found at the scene.

In the La Floresta sector, on the other hand, a man was found dead in a vacant lot. According to residents, the victim was shot several times by unknown individuals. Five ballistic evidence and other investigations were carried out at the scene by agents of the National Directorate of Crimes against Life and Violent Deaths (Dinased) and Criminalistics.
