In the next few years, the World Health Organization (WHO) is unlikely to announce the end of the coronavirus pandemic. This was announced to RIA Novosti by the infectious disease specialist Yevgeny Timakov.

According to him, the incidence will either increase or decrease, but the virus itself will remain with us. Timakov compared the current situation with the tuberculosis pandemic. According to the infectious disease specialist, doctors have also been fighting with it for a long time, but the disease does not go away. The same, in his opinion, will be with the coronavirus.

Earlier, virologist Anatoly Altshtein urged Russians not to perceive the abolition of a significant part of covid restrictions as the end of the pandemic.

According to the operational headquarters for the fight against new coronavirus infections, 93 thousand 26 cases have been detected in Russia over the past day. In Moscow, according to Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, the epidemiological situation is normalizing, therefore QR codes, restrictions on visits to public catering, theaters, sports and other institutions are cancelled.

In addition, since February 28, transport cards have been unblocked for pensioners and chroniclers.
