Minga of cleaning and emotional support for those affected in La Comuna and La Gasca will be held this Saturday, March 5

The Secretariat of Territorial Coordination and Citizen Participation of the Municipality of Quito informed, through a bulletin, that This Saturday, March 5, 2022, they will perform the minga called “I love Quito.” The meeting point defined by the organizers will be the Pambachupa Park, in the sector of La Gasca, from the 08:00.

The flood of last January 31, which left 28 people dead, also affected the emotional and psychological side of the inhabitants, For this reason, the municipal entities have thought of a component not only for cleaning, but also cultural and social.

“We will promote sports activities such as dance therapy, We will have a local business fair to reactivate the economy of the sector. In addition, children will be able to enjoy the show “El Paso y la Zebra”, painted faces, children’s games and more,” the statement said.

In addition, they informed that they will have the presentation of the artistic show of Fernando Díaz “My name is Reik”.

In the minga it is planned to carry out urban art murals in memory of those who died and were affected by the flood, by the Quito Acción group.

The nine zonal administrations from the entire Metropolitan District of Quito will also be part of this minga.

The Casas Somos projects will move to the Pambachupa park with its workshops for crafts, sports and art.

Finally, the cleaning work will have crews and teams of workers, who will help in the reconstruction of sidewalks, curbs, parks, replacement of cobblestones and house painting.

The authorities invited citizens who wish to collaborate in this minga to come to the designated place and to be located in an orderly manner. (I)
