For the fourth time, a mini-market was attacked in the Pueblo Nuevo compound, in the rural Febres Cordero parish, belonging to the Babahoyo canton.

The event occurred on the morning of Tuesday 26, when the owners were serving their customers.

Business owners told the police that the criminals made them lie down on the floor and then verbally and physically assaulted them, in order to force them to hand over the money from the day’s sales and their personal belongings. The antisocials fled once they carried out the robbery.

The police arrived at the scene to carry out the respective inspections on the site and review possible evidence.

The Police verified the videos of the security cameras installed in the affected premises to identify those involved, which would preliminarily be six, according to those affected. No injuries were reported by this fact, agents of the institution detailed.

On Tuesday morning, in a building located in another sector of the same rural parish, a citizen was injured after an attack perpetrated by unknown subjects.

The affected person was transferred to a health home and for now remains under medical care there. Relatives stated that the projectiles used by the criminals were not lethal, since they would have used bullets.

The citizen was left with injuries to his abdomen and forehead, indicated close friends.

They reported that, apparently, the attack would be a retaliation by alleged extortionists who weeks ago had already intimidated him with the aim of giving them money in exchange for supposedly offering security. (I)
