The verification of the reaction forces within the framework of the Allied Resolve exercise will be extended. This, according to the Ministry of Defense of Belarus, was stated by the Belarusian Minister of Defense Viktor Khrenin.

“In connection with the increase in military activity near the external borders of the Union State and the aggravation of the situation in the Donbass, the Presidents of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation decided to continue checking the response forces of the Union State,” he said.

The minister explained that “our neighboring countries are being “pumped up” with the most modern weapons in an emergency unscheduled manner.”

“Military and transport infrastructure facilities have been modernized. The number of exercises and operations incomprehensible to us, conducted near the borders of the Union State, has multiplied. Their orientation against Russia and the Republic of Belarus is also obvious,” he said.

According to him, “from all of the above, one conclusion logically follows – in Europe there is a very strong smell of gunpowder.”

“It is being purposefully pushed into war,” he concluded.

Exercise Allied Resolve began on 10 February. The main stage of the exercises ended on February 20.

The day before, a planned exercise of the strategic deterrence forces took place in Russia, during which ballistic and cruise missiles were launched. The exercises were observed by the presidents of Russia and Belarus, Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko. The Kremlin said that the tasks envisaged during the exercise of the strategic deterrence forces were completed in full, all missiles hit their designated targets.

We add that the situation in the Donbass has escalated. The population of the LNR and DNR is evacuated to Russia. Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that both he and Russian President Vladimir Putin sleep peacefully at night amid political tensions around Ukraine. Peskov was asked how the nightly reports on events were going on and whether the president was sleeping, to which he replied that the head of state was sleeping peacefully. As for Peskov himself, then, according to him, he sleeps “no less calmly, but sensitively.”
