Russian athletes have updated the national record for the number of awards won at the Winter Olympics. This is reported by the correspondent of “Lenta.ru”.
Following the results of the Olympic hockey tournament, the Russian team brought another silver to the team’s treasury. In the final, the hockey players lost to their rivals from Finland with a score of 1:2.
Now the Russian team in Beijing has 32 medals, including six gold, 12 silver and 14 bronze medals. Thus, domestic Olympians have updated their own national record at the Winter Olympics and surpassed the results of the Games in Sochi. Skiers brought the most medals to the team – they have 11 awards, figure skating is in second place with six awards, biathlon is third – four medals.
The closing ceremony of the Beijing Olympics will begin on February 20 at 15:00 Moscow time.
