Moscow rejects accusations by the administration of US President Joe Biden of involvement in cyber attacks on Ukrainian government websites. This is stated in the message of the Russian Embassy in the United States on Twitter.
“Russia has nothing to do with the mentioned events and, in principle, has never carried out and does not conduct “malicious” operations in the virtual space,” the diplomatic mission noted.
US authorities believe that the Russian government is responsible for large-scale cyber attacks on Ukrainian banks and the website of the Ministry of Defense, Neuberger said during a briefing the day before.
Earlier, Deputy Assistant to the President of the United States for National Security Ann Neuberger admitted the involvement of Russian special services in cyber attacks on the websites of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense and a number of Ukrainian banks on February 15. According to her, the Russian side thus wants to collect intelligence for “preparing a subversive cyber attack.” She added that “the GRU infrastructure transmitted large amounts of information to Ukrainian IP addresses and domains.”
