The Selivanovsky District Court took the side of a 99-year-old veteran of the Great Patriotic War, who challenged the refusal to register her as in need of better housing conditions. As established in court, the woman lives in a house without sewage, bathroom and toilet.

“In support of the claim, she indicated that she was a participant in the Great Patriotic War, has a disability, lives in a house built in 1940, which does not belong to her, she does not own any other property. The living conditions in the house, taking into account her age (99 years), are very difficult, there is no sewerage in the house, as well as household amenities in the form of a bathroom and toilet rooms, repairs are required, ”the case file says.

Despite the title of a veteran, the housing commission of the Novlyansky rural settlement refused to recognize a woman in need of better conditions. During the process, representatives of the administration stated that they had no objections to the case and left the decision of the issue to the discretion of the court.

As a result, the court ordered the administration to register the woman. The decision has not yet entered into force. As ProGorodVladimir notes, registration does not mean that a veteran will soon receive housing. A lonely 99-year-old applicant can stay in the queue for several years.
