It was 03:00 when a neighbor noticed the presence of the victim in the doorway of a house and called ECU-911.
The residents of block 5 of the Unión de Bananeros cooperative, in southern Guasmo, discovered an injured man at dawn on Monday 25 in a portal of one of the buildings in that populous sector.
It was 03:00 when a neighbor noticed the victim’s presence and called ECU-911. An ambulance arrived at the scene and took the man to the Guasmo hospital, however, due to the severity of the injuries, he died around 06:00, said Colonel Ricardo Manitio, head of the Southern District of the National Police.
The uniformed officer indicated that the victim had no identification and that he had been attacked with a knife, similar to a machete.
He also explained that a block before the point where they found the man, blood stains were found, so they are investigating the identity of the cause of the injuries and the motivations for the attack.
Some residents indicated that the wounded man was half naked.
One of the residents of the sector assured that the deceased had been tried to steal the motorcycle and that he would have resisted. However, the Police have not found any motorcycle, clothes, or documents of the victim.
On the morning of this Monday 25, several Criminalistics agents were looking for clues and security cameras in the area to determine the causes of the event. (I)
