Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin said at a “right hour” in the State Duma that he is not a supporter of actively attracting low-skilled labor to Russia, but does not know how to solve the problem of a shortage of labor resources in the country. This is reported by the correspondent of “Rosbalt”.

“I am against migrants, but then let’s say how we will solve this problem – the lack of labor resources and protection from all the negative aspects associated with migrants,” Khusnullin said. So he commented on the remark of the State Duma deputy that the words of the Deputy Prime Minister about attracting another 5 million migrants to Russian construction projects “are perceived by citizens with regret.”

“When I talk about 5 million labor resources, this does not mean that this is a cheap labor force. How many able-bodied people have died in the last two years? Who will work in the country? I raise the question that in the future of several years we need to decide on labor resources, both highly professional, including the return of compatriots from abroad, and retraining and, no matter how unpleasant it is for us, with cheap labor,” Khusnullin said. .

The Deputy Prime Minister claims that “a migrant today works 50% more than a Russian and receives 30% less.”

“That is, let’s make a decision – to work without migrants. Then let’s take the average salary in the country, today it’s more than 50 thousand, and builders have more than 40 thousand, we will bring it to the average at least, and if we want to attract people to this industry, we will increase the salary, ”said Khusnullin.

He also suggested increasing labor productivity.

“It’s all in our hands, as we make a decision, it will be so. I’m talking about civilized, organized migration – according to strict rules and under control. I always cite Dubai as an example – there are a million Arabs, 8 million migrants and 12 million tourists, and only 14% of oil revenues, ”said the Deputy Prime Minister.

Khusnullin also suggested that deputies develop “tough legislation to protect themselves from all the negative aspects associated with migrants.”

At the same time, he is convinced that the rejection of cheap labor will affect the cost of goods and services for consumers.

“In the end, the consumer pays for everything,” the vice-premier summed up.
