Rain caused damage to roads and properties in Píllaro, in Tungurahua

According to the mayor Francisco Yanchatipán, with the machinery and personnel of the municipality they worked at night to prevent the damage from being greater with the accumulation of water, especially on the roads.

He indicated that technical personnel were in charge of carrying out evaluations of the effects on the roads in order to intervene jointly with the provincial government of Tungurahua.

For her part, Maricela Lara, daughter of the owner of the Píllaro nursery, located in the Santa Teresita neighborhood of the Ciudad Nueva parish, indicated that as a result of the rain that lasted around two hours, the sewage sewer that is collected collapsed. from the city and practically destroyed 10,000 plants.

He stated that the current of the rain that was mixed with the sewage was destroying the plants that were in covers. Following the Agrocalidad parameters, these were unusable for commercialization because they are contaminated with inputs from the sewer.

He estimated that the losses would exceed $ 30,000, since his father, Trajano Lara, in growing the plants before some go on sale, has worked for around seven years. She recalled that last June the request was made to the Municipality for the maintenance of the sewer system

For his part, the mayor of Píllaro indicated that personnel were transferred to the nursery in order to carry out the evaluation of the damage and that if this is the case, it will be intervened as an emergency. He added that the officials worked for the maintenance of different sectors, but that attention to requirements is prioritized. (I)
