Communist Party leader Gennady Zyuganov denied media reports that he met with the head of the LDPR faction Vladimir Zhirinovsky at the Central Clinical Hospital, where they are both being treated.

As Zyuganov said in a commentary to RIA Novosti, the meeting was impossible because the leader of the LDPR had a coronavirus. Zyuganov, according to his associates, is in the hospital to prevent coronavirus infection.

“I wished Vladimir Volfovich, as expected, recovery, made a number of recommendations on this topic, but with such an illness, no meetings can take place,” he said.

Zyuganov said he feels “generally fine,” although he will not attend a meeting of the State Duma Council on Monday, where it is planned to discuss a project for recognizing the self-proclaimed DPR and LPR. He conveyed his position on this issue through his party comrades-in-arms.

Earlier on Sunday, URA.RU, citing a “source close to the Liberal Democratic Party,” reported that opposition party leaders Zhirinovsky and Zyuganov allegedly met in person at the Central Clinical Hospital. “We have already managed to exchange pleasantries, like old friends. The leader of the Liberal Democratic Party is actively distributing instructions for work. And he even jokingly asked Zyuganov: “Where is Mironov ?!“ ”The media quoted the words“ insider ”.
