Lufthansa may suspend flights to Ukraine.

According to RIA Novosti, the air carrier is “very closely monitoring the situation” around the country.

Lufthansa said it is considering suspending services, but a decision has not yet been made and will depend on “a number of factors.”

The day before, KLM decided to stop flights to Ukraine. Before that, the Dutch Foreign Ministry assigned Ukraine a “red level” of travel danger and urged its citizens to refuse to visit the country amid reports of an imminent “Russian invasion”.

In addition, the Swiss Swiss and the Austrian Austrian Airlines refused to stay overnight in Kiev for the sake of crew safety.

According to Strana.ua sources, the largest British insurers are planning to abandon airline insurance for flights over Ukraine from next week.

Meanwhile, adviser to the head of the office of the Ukrainian president, Mikhail Podolyak, emphasized that the country does not intend to close its airspace yet.

Later, however, Rada deputy Oleksiy Goncharenko said on his Telegram channel that flights over Ukraine could be suspended from February 14.
