RIA Novosti: Mercedes billionaire Shepel, who got into a mass accident on Rublyovka, did not have OSAGO

The owner of the development company S.Holding, billionaire Alexei Shepel, who got into a massive accident on Rublevsky Highway, will be obliged to compensate for material damage. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the auto lawyer Dmitry Slavny.

As it turned out, the driver of the Mercedes car did not have a valid OSAGO policy. According to the law, in this case, the driver compensates for the damage, the lawyer explained.

According to a law enforcement source, in 2022 alone, Shepel’s Mercedes has eight fines for speeding and one for turning or making a U-turn in violation of road signs and markings.

The mass accident on Rublyovka towards the region occurred on February 8. The traffic police specified that a total of 9 cars were involved in the accident – a Mercedes S350, two Volkswagen Polo cars, a Mercedes 7843H2, a Toyota Highlander, a Kia K5, a Lada Largus, a Toyota Vitz, a Toyota Venza. The media reported that Shepel lost control due to a sharp deterioration in health. After the accident, the billionaire was hospitalized with coronavirus.
