Negotiations of political advisers in the “Normandy” format” in Berlin passed “without tangible results and statements,” Dmitry Kozak, deputy head of the presidential administration of the Russian Federation, who represented Russia, said at the final briefing.

“We tried to agree on the final statement of our negotiations, starting from the previous meeting in Paris on January 26 … But we failed to overcome these differences today,” he said, adding that the Ukrainian side refused to “even cite the Minsk agreements” in the final document on the issue of determining the status Donbass through “consultations and discussions with representatives of individual regions.”

In turn, the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, also said that the parties “could not come to some kind of common document.”

“I would like to say that it would be good if we could also agree on something at the second meeting in the Normandy format after a long break. There is such a desire, but today, as it happened, it happened,” Yermak said at a briefing. At the same time, according to him, advisers to the leaders of the Normandy format confirmed the need to implement the Minsk agreements on the settlement in Donbass.

Recall, earlier it was reported that the negotiations lasted more than eight hours.
