After weeks without the Municipality of Quito defining the schedule for vehicle technical review (RTV) of 2022, which was to start in February, the Metropolitan Transit Agency (AMT) announced that the process will start in July, with the digits 1 and 2, and will end in November.
The director of the AMT, Silvana Vallejo, at the session of the Metropolitan Council on February 8, explained that the delay is due to the fact that there is no current contract with the vehicle inspection centers, since it ended in 2018 and to date it has not been settled. “The strategies, according to current regulations, will be comprehensive and inter-institutional,” said the official.
The Agency plans to complete the situation with the two operators of the centers until April of this year.
The technical review is a procedure that must be fulfilled by the public and private vehicle owners before enrollment.
