The Swedish authorities have re-established a “psychological defense” agency to combat foreign fakes and disinformation, which was closed in 2008, reports The Guardian, citing the deputy head of the agency, Magnus Hjort.

According to the publication, the agency resumed work amid fears that Russia could invade Ukraine, Lenta.ru reports.

Discussions about the resumption of the work of the “anti-fake” agency were conducted back in 2016, when Donald Trump won the US presidential election and reports began to appear about Russia’s influence on the outcome of the election.

Recall also, on the eve of the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, said that the erroneous headline of the Bloomberg agency about the Russian invasion of Ukraine demonstrates how dangerous the tension provoked by the West is. He added that you can even say not “fake news”, but “Bloomberg news”, which will be justified.

We add that back in November-December last year, the world media was filled with the topic of the alleged Russian invasion of Ukraine and the sanctions that should follow. According to the authors and experts of these publications, a sign of “invasion” is the concentration of Russian military equipment in the regions bordering Ukraine. Among the likely sanctions are both the shutdown of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, as well as restrictions against Russian energy companies, and the shutdown of the SWIFT interbank settlement system.
