Throughout Russia, approximately 180,000 people go missing every year, and up to 20,000 of them are never found. This was stated in an interview with RIA Novosti by the coordinator of the LizaAlert search and rescue team, State Duma deputy Oleg Leonov.

On February 3, a number of countries celebrate the day of missing people.

As, in particular, the coordinator of the detachment pointed out, about 25% of all applications are received by LizaAlert. At the same time, according to the organization’s own statistics, middle-aged people most often disappear, but people over 65 are considered the most dangerous category.

Leonov reminded that if a person is missing, then you should immediately call 112 and report to the police. “There is no need to wait for him (the missing person – ed.) to return himself or resort to the help of acquaintances, because any delay, even for half an hour, can worsen the situation of a person, during this time he can move through the forest and go away, on the contrary, away from the entry point , this will complicate the search, ”the squad coordinator added.

We also add that earlier the chairman of LizaAlert, Grigory Sergeyev, expressed the opinion that pedophiles released from places of detention should wear electronic bracelets. This is how he commented on the murder of two 10-year-old girls in Kiselevsk by a man convicted of pedophilia.

“A lot of fatal crimes against children are committed by repeat offenders. (…) I consider it necessary to develop preventive and control measures that will save society from dangerous criminals for the entire period of their lives, ”Sergeev emphasized.
