We are not talking about lockdown, quarantine or any emergency measures to counter the coronavirus in Russia. This, according to RIA Novosti, said the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova.
“Today we are not talking about a lockdown, we are not talking about quarantine, we are not talking about some kind of emergency countermeasures,” she said.
The head of the department added that the new strain “omicron” has lost the ability to penetrate into the lung tissue. Various mutations led to this, Popova explained.
As of February 1, coronavirus was confirmed in 125,836 people in Russia per day. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 11 million 986 thousand 913 people have fallen ill with coronavirus.
The number of people cured after infection increased by 40 thousand 301 per day (the day before 30 thousand 130), in total – 10 million 288 thousand 582 cases of recovery.
663 people died due to coronavirus per day, thus the total number of victims of infection reached 332,012. A day earlier, it was reported that 621 patients had died.
