“He who is against weapons for Ukraine is for war” is the title of an article for the Spiegel newspaper, written by former Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski.
In the text, he criticized Germany’s refusal to supply weapons to Kiev against the backdrop of escalation on the border with Russia. According to him, this means that Berlin has drawn the wrong conclusions from its history. “German inaction” is manifesting itself, Sikorsky added.
According to him, “the largest country on the continent must finally at least begin to take its security policy seriously and restore its shaken confidence.” Germany must be aware of its responsibility for European security, the ex-minister stressed.
At the same time, he acknowledged that Berlin contributed to the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.
Recall that Germany refused direct military supplies to Ukraine and prevented the transfer of German weapons to the Ukrainian side through third countries. According to The Wall Street Journal, Germany, among other things, did not allow Estonia to transfer German-made 122-millimeter D-30 howitzers.
It should be noted that Poland, like many EU countries, is convinced of the high probability of a hypothetical Russian attack on Ukraine, which could take place in the winter of 2021/2022. Since November last year, this has been reported by the world media, which publish pictures of Russian military equipment allegedly concentrated in the regions bordering Ukraine, and maps of the alleged directions of “Russian attacks”.
