The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, called for the return of members of the Yangulbaev family from abroad to Russia. He stated this during a live broadcast on Instagram.
Addressing the countries that “sheltered” the Yangulbaevs, he urged them not to expect gratitude from them: “they will definitely sow the seed of discord in you.”
“It is better … to return (them) to Russia, because their stay will not bring anything good for your states,” the head of the Chechen Republic warned, quoted by RIA Novosti.
Recall that at the end of January, police officers from Chechnya forcibly took Zarema Musaeva, the wife of retired federal judge Saydi Yangulbaev, from an apartment in Nizhny Novgorod.
The Minister for National Policy, Foreign Relations, Press and Information of the Republic, Akhmed Dudayev, then stated that Musaeva was detained for insulting a law enforcement officer, and was also in the status of a witness in a fraud case.
The situation caused a great public outcry. The son of the ex-judge Abubakar Yangulbaev and member of the HRC Igor Kalyapin criticized the Chechen security forces. In turn, the head of the republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, considered lawful the actions of representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Chechen Republic in Nizhny Novgorod.
Later, investigators in Chechnya put the son of federal judge Ibragim Yangulbaev on the federal wanted list, arresting him in absentia for publicly calling for terrorist activities.
The Kremlin said that there was no need to interfere in the situation around the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, and the family of Saidi Yangulbaev. “There is no need for the Kremlin to monitor this, law enforcement agencies are performing their functions and doing it very clearly,” said Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for President Vladimir Putin.
