Signatures are being collected on the Internet demanding that stray dogs be handed over to officials and that Deputy Mikhailov be held accountable.

THIS MESSAGE (MATERIAL) IS CREATED AND (OR) DISTRIBUTED BY A FOREIGN MASS MEDIA PERFORMING THE FUNCTIONS OF A FOREIGN AGENT AND (OR) A RUSSIAN LEGAL ENTITY PERFORMING THE FUNCTIONS OF A FOREIGN AGENT.

Every official should take on the personal content of stray dogs so that they do not attack Russians on the streets. This is called for by the author of the petition that appeared on the change.org website.

She complains that “a dangerous situation with stray dogs has developed in the Astrakhan region,” and “all the measures taken by the authorities do not bring any positive results.”

“I suggest that every official take stray dogs for personal maintenance until the issue of the safety of our citizens is resolved,” the author of the appeal pointed out.

Meanwhile, the initiator of another petition on the change.org website demanded that Alexander Mikhailov, a Trans-Baikal deputy, be prosecuted.

According to the author of the appeal, on January 25, 2022, he “publicly called for the shooting of stray dogs and animal rights activists, that is, people who protect animal rights.”

In this regard, the initiator of the petition considers it necessary to “deprive the deputy” of immunity, as well as “to initiate a criminal case against him under Part 2 of Article 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, bring him to criminal responsibility and ask the court to deprive him of his liberty for a period of 5 years with deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions for a period of 3 years.

We also add that over the weekend, the chairman of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed to analyze cases of attacks by stray dogs on people and prepare proposals for changing the law. Such an instruction was given “in connection with another case of the death of a child as a result of an attack by a pack of stray dogs,” the message on the website of the UK said.

Bastrykin ordered “to work out proposals for improving the current legislation in order to increase the safety of the population and exclude such facts.”
