Diplomats from Russia are preparing to leave Ukraine. The order was received by employees of two Russian consulates, according to The New York Times, citing a senior Ukrainian security official.

It is noted that about 30 employees from the Russian Federation will leave the consulates in Kiev and Lviv in the near future. At the same time, 18 people – mostly children and wives of Russian diplomats – left Ukraine on January 5.

“We have information indicating that the Russian government was preparing to evacuate their family members from the Russian embassy in Ukraine in late December and early January,” a US official confirmed, quoted by RBC. Washington also noted that Moscow “still has not made a final decision on the ‘invasion’ of Ukraine.”

It should be noted that earlier several foreign media reported that the Russian Federation was gathering troops to the border with Ukraine and was allegedly preparing to attack the country. The Kremlin repeatedly denied all accusations and noted that the movement of troops across the territory of Russia is its internal affair.
